ADRENALIN: Just out of curiosity, is Billy's vocal style any different in the newer material? ROSS: Billy's vocal style is pretty much the same on the new stuff. There will be more riffs that require him to be screaming instead of singing this time around I think, but his screaming and singing styles still basically sound the same. ADRENALIN: The copyright on the CD is 2006. Are you currently working on a new release? ROSS: We aren't to the recording stages yet, but like I mentioned we are working on new shit. I think we may go with an EP this time, 5 or 6 songs. ADRENALIN: A common stereotype that I hear about Iowa is that it’s plain and nothing to do there. So, what IS there to do there? How’s the music scene? ROSS: I actually live in Moline Illinois, about 5 minutes from Iowa, all three of the other guys live in Iowa though. We live in the Quad Cities so there is a little more to do than if you live in the middle of farm land, which I grew up in. The music scene here is pretty cool, there are a lot of talented bands in the area for sure. The Horde, Illinoise, Waco Jesus, Through Terror, Plagued By saints, and The One Night Standards are all very good, and I encourage anyone reading this to check them out, they are all on myspace of course. There lots of other good bands too, I just can't remember them all at the moment. ADRENALIN: What other bands from Iowa deserve some recognition? |
ROSS: The bands I just mentioned above are the ones that come to mind right now, but there are others. 5th Dawn is awesome as well, they had broken up but they are back together I hear. ADRENALIN: Has Bourbon Breath gotten a chance to tour at all? If so, how did that go? ROSS: We haven't toured yet, we have played several out of town shows but basically just weekend jaunts. We are planning trips to Pittsburgh and New Orleans. That is probably a little farther down the line though. ADRENALIN: What’s next for Bourbon Breath?
