JUSTIN: The other guys going off while I sit, playin and sweatin’ hard. CHRIS: [We move around a bit] except when I'm concentrating on playing a hard riff correctly ADRENALIN: In my opinion, Dominaeon seems to reel from tragedy to travesty like a grogged-up sailor. First Justin slices his Achilles tendon, then you lose Dani (bass), after which Chris finds out he has testicular cancer for which he has to endure chemotherapy, then the loss of Cuz (guitar), along with a few breaks due to “personal issues”. This is a huge testament to your belief in Dominaeon, but how do you fit rehearsals, recordings and shows into all of that? ADAM: Cheers cobber. I've never really thought about it that way. It's just what I do. My unbridled passion so to speak. We all just love what we do. To me especially, it's not about the amount of records & t-shits ya can sell or how many fukken shows ya can play, it's about playing what you really wanna play. To explain the personal issues, I’m currently half homeless due to a house fire in Feb of ‘07, and also had a work accident receiving soft tissue and ligament damage to my neck and spine. This slowed me down somewhat for a period of about eight months and I still can't headbang. But the vocals sound normal so it's all systems go. There will always be room for rehearsals and shows and what-not for me, simply for the fact that I’d go fukken insane if I stopped. JUSTIN: I love playing what we play so there will always be time. CHRIS: Yeah my cancer didn't slow me down all that much. I pretty much just sat out for a few months and played at home during this anyway - when I wasn't feeling like shit - and I didn't play much for the couple weeks after the |
surgery. I never stopped though. And when I was able to walk and stand again and knew I didn't have much treatment left I was straight back into the rehearsal room with these boys. ADRENALIN: In amongst all of the aforementioned dramas, shenanigans and goings-on, somehow, other projects are squeezed in. Care to name ‘em off, so that readers can check ‘em out if they’re interested: ADAM: I do two other projects. Reign Hatred, which is a computer two-man band. It's myself and Brad who's recently joined [Dominaeon on bass]. It's chaotic, aggressive black/death metal. I do the vocals and drum programming. Brad plays all guitars and bass. Both of us write the songs. We are currently working on material to have ready mid-‘08. If anyone’s interested, visit www.myspace.com/hatred_reigning. I also play guitar for KobberZ (hahahahahaha). We are just drunken fukktards playing beer-fuelled, up-tempo punk/death metal/ (insert every fukken genre of music here). We get drunk, dress up in silly shit, then get on stage and be funny arseholes till we get told to fukk off. It’s very Australian.
