questions answered by Patrick & Bastiaan ** Interview by Darren - May 2007 ** |
ADRENALIN: What is the metal/rock scene like in the Netherlands? BAASTIAAN: Bandwise, there’s a lot of talent running around. Metal, and I don’t mean nu-metal or any of that crap, is making a huge comeback. The Netherlands have always been big in the metal community. I mean, in the 80s Laaz Rockit practically lived here. Plus you have a lot of festivals going on, that always draw fairly big crowds. So all in all, we can’t complain. ADRENALIN: What's next for EOP? BASTIAAN: I did not play guitar at “I Am Your Enemy” so I am dying to record the second CD, so Engine of Pain will get some of my stuff released! PAT: Yeah…! Currently we are very busy writing very cool new songs so we can use the option to release the second CD through Lion Music as well. With Bastiaan as a member, Engine of Pain has the ability to have even more amazing solos and melodic riffs. Put it in a blender with the rest of the bands capacity and you have a great mix of High Tech Melodic Thrash Metal (speaking about subgenres, hahah). We are aimed at writing even better songs; that’s the main object of course. Besides that we want to play cool live gigs as much as possible. Playing live is the coolest thing to do. Thanks a lot for your interview & ROCK ON!!!! |
