Mike Gaspar (drums)
** Interview conducted by Mike of Adrenalin Fanzine - May 2006 **

MIKE: Well before myspace we would do that on Moonspell.com.  This time it happened simultaneously, our opinion on this is that there is no way we can stop people from getting free music, so than why not the band be the first to show people our new stuff, with quality and proper presentation, making things more appreciated by who seeks us, just like the albums, we work hard on having quality covers, lyrics, artwork, special editions , true forms of art, that will make a difference from a cd rom with no touch from the band at all.  Even those who don’t buy our albums, maybe they will come to the shows and become a follower after all, who knows?  One thing is for sure, a lot more people listen to us these days then the past, and we can fight the mainstream bullshit that you have to see on tv. With the net we can make our own world. We don’t need the big companies, just a love for music!

ADRENALIN: On your myspace page you say, “We want more friends here at myspace, want to reach 5000 as soon as possible! So add us!” Is this a goal that SPV or Moonspell set? (Congratulations on succeeding)

MIKE:  Moonspell set that goal.  Like I said my girlfriend got us into it and she created the page for us.  She was so excited to do something for us, and it turned out to be a great way to promote ourselves and get to a new audience.  We keep track on it day by day, and hope it grows more and more.  We are new, but we do have a lot to offer, our fans are unique and they need each other, and so do we. It’s something that we can be on tour and get in touch and follow the reactions from everyone (like the release

of the album).  Once it came out, the comments came pouring, and all good, awesome even!!! I see other bands with thousands of friends so why not us too, and we will be in there also enjoying the tribe we have helped to create. Myspace rules!!!

ADRENALIN: Can you name a few bands that have opened up for Moonspell that you recommend to check out?

MIKE: Yeah, Lacuna Coil. he he  There first tour in Europe and America was supporting Moonspell.   I don’t think many people know that, but there are so many other great bands, Rotting Christ, Kreator, Witchery, Therion, Samael, Tiamat, just a few we have also played supported some cool bands, like Type O Negative, Cradle of Filth, Paradise Lost, Slayer, Marilyn Manson and in festivals we have played with Black Sabbath, Metallica, Slipknot, Sepultura, Korn, its been a wild ride, I can’t remember them all but they all rocked!!!
